Introducing Rotorplane

Invention "Rotoplane and Technique of its Flight Control"

Rotoplane is relevant to aviation and can be used for individual flights in atmosphere. Rotoplane contains the frame consisting of rods 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 in the upper part of which there is a blade rotor 8 mounted vertically with the rotation possibility.

The rudder 12 is connected with the rotoplane and mounted on the bar 11 which is fixed to the bush 10 having a possibility of controlled rotation through the kinematic chain with the control handle 13. Rotoplane has at least one flexible linkage 17 for supporting the pilot 19 in the hanging position near the frame at a certain distance from it and provides for any position of the pilot suspended on this flexible linkage and possibility of his movement in any direction for the rotoplane control.
Rotoplane may be used either with jets 9 or without them. The pilot 19, using the control handles 13, 14 starts the jets 9 and after the calculated number of rotation increases the blade pitch and fuel inflow with the handle 14 trough the kinematic chain of mechanism 15 used for 8 blades pitch changing (kinematic control chains are not shown on the drawings). After stretching of the flexible linkage 17 the pilot 19 can control the rotor position by applying hands on rods 1, 2, 3, of the frame. Further the pilot 19 makes a take- off.
During the flight the pilot 19 control the flight with force actions of hands on rods 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 of the frame. Deviating from the balanced position to any direction, the pilot 19 thus moves the gravity center of the "rotoplan-pilot" system. The resulting horizontal component of forces affecting the rotoplane during the flight moves the rotoplane towards the gravity center deviation.During the flight the pilot 19 switches off jets 9 and changes the blade pitch with the help of mechanism 15 by amount providing for the steady autorotation of the rotor and continues the flight in gliding mode.
The landing is performed by the pilot 19 against the wind by canceling the horizontal speed at a low altitude with the help of a sharp increase of the rotor angle of attack, the vertical speed is canceled by the pilot 19 at a low altitude by increasing the pitch of blades 8 with mechanism 15 of blade pitch change - simultaneously it stops the rotor rotation.

Besides, the rotoplane can be used for the take-off from the mountain slope without jets or with jets switched off in presence of wind. For the purpose the pilot places the rotoplane on the mountain slope, fixes the flexible linkage 17 to the bracket 16 and waits for the upcoming air flow near mountain slope to drive the autorotating propeller up to the calculated rotation number and than, by holding the rotoplane with frame rods 1 and 2, he makes a take-off from the place at a strong wind or by taking a few steps downhill at light air.
The rotoplane can be used for gliding flights in upcoming air flows. The rotoplane has aerodynamic properties at the level of the best hang-glider but unlike them it has no dangerous mode of a diving flight.
